If Amy had seen the pictures of her and Melody at the Orphanage, why didn't she just tell the Doctor the Silence was raising her there

1) She was captured and reportedly had no memory of her time there (i.e. Maybe they made her forget) 2) The child at some point after that escaped/was let loose(?) and ended up elsewhere 3) It is generally implied he knew but it no longer mattered since she was no longer there and there was nothing to gleam about her from that place.
